I really like this short book of quotations by Thomas Jefferson. They are so relevant to the situations we currently encounter! It is short, handy, and easy to scan through. However, there is a little too much repetition. Some quotes are given in a "longer" form with more context and then given again later without context. So, the whole book could have been shorter. It would also have been nice to have some sort of organization. I could find none of any significance, just quote after quote in apparently random order. Nevertheless, this is a lot of material one can use frequently and should be read and thought about.Product details

The quotes are wonderful, but this book seriously needs editing - it is full of repetitions and various other errors.
Good to know what our founding Fathers thought about this great nation. Great for public speaking engagements, or term papers.
Limited quotes but gives a good flavor of the man. Certainly one of my all time favorites of history (Thomas).
Despite all the clamour over some of his personal humanistic ventures, he is still our 1st true Renaissance-man... He had no equal then, and none today, matching his talents in all spheres of the Arts & Sciences... He considered the age of reason and freedom of thought as the foundations for this new nation... He served us well with the many hats he wore.

We should have had these in school. This country has experienced what he said we would for the reasons he laid out. What a master mine to know. Yea for America, her founders knew what they were doing.
The selected quotations are excellent and representative Jefferson's thought and philosophy. Any reading of these will be edifying and thought provoking. In fact any thing written by Mr. Jefferson is worth reading. How ever the editing (or perhaps proofreading) leaves something to be desired. Many quotes are repeated; in one instance three time in sequence. This is certainly worth reading and the price is right.
There are literally thousands of sayings attributed to Mr. Jefferson, and this is a very useful resource to see what he really did say.
